The rest of the website tells you what I’m doing, but I want this one small corner of it to explain why.

It’s because I believe that knowledge we take to the grave is knowledge wasted, and that benefitting from our fishing smarts without ever passing them on does fishing no favors.

So, I’m simply trying to hand on what was handed on to me…

That beautiful trout and trout streams don’t just happen but must be nurtured.
That while some people are born fly fishers, most have to be shown what they’re missing. Welcome them, teach them, and always encourage them.
That if fishing is just a matter of ‘how many,’ you aren’t doing it right. Time on the water with friends in beautiful places is the pay-off. Fish are a bonus.
That fly fishing is open to everyone and doesn’t have to be half as expensive as some would have you believe.
That guides and tackle shop owners are the folk who look after fishing when everyone else goes back to the day job. Make sure you support them.
That bad coffee is a sin and good beer is a given. All right, this has nothing to with fishing but it still can’t be said often enough.

And that’s why Destination Trout is here. Now let’s go fishing…
