The trouble with going to fly fishing heaven is...you really don't want to mess it up

I'm here to make sure you don't

Hi, I’m Jamey Thomaston,

When I’m not taking people fly-fishing in the beautiful state of Montana, I’m taking them flying from coast to coast.

You meet a lot of people when you’re a commercial pilot. I only wish I had five bucks for every time their faces light up when I tell them where I live. And what I do when I’m down there.

Because there’s a lot of folks out there with ‘fish in Montana‘ at the top of their bucket list. And the same question on their lips when they find out that Montana is where I call home.

“So what’s the best way to do it?”

Great question. And after living here for eight years, I have a lot of answers.

Because when I say, ‘I scout it, you fish it’, I’m not just talking about rivers and lakes.

Putting you on fish may be the best part of my job but I also want to put you in the right part of the state. On water that gives you and your buddies as much of a challenge as you feel you can handle. And, once the sun goes down, in bars, diners, and lodgings that give you as many home comforts as you need.

I scout out all the best deals, too. And whether it’s you and the guys or you and your family heading out here, I’ve done my homework so that everyone’s covered. While you’re enjoying the best trout fishing in Montana, there’s plenty to see and do for those in your party who’d rather do something else.

So bookmark Destination Trout and keep an eye on the site as it grows. Because I’m writing down everything I know about fishing in Big Sky Montana – the fish we have, the flies that catch them, and the places you, your rod, and your camera will not want to miss. I’ll also be talking you through that famous weather and wildlife I mentioned. If it makes you feel better, I haven’t lost a client yet…

And check out my podcasts, where I talk at length about the how-tos of fishing Montana and answer any questions you might send me.

That week-of-a-lifetime fishing out here might call for a plan but putting one together doesn’t have to be hard. And it can be a lot of fun.

Stick with me.

Yours,

Jamey
